The Princeton University Art Museum construction will continue until the Spring of 2024. During this time, there will be pedestrian detours around the perimeter of the construction site.
What you need to know:
- A temporary pathway from Elm Drive to Chapel Drive has been established between Clio and Whig and the construction site. This pathway will lead you past Clio, Whig and Murray-Dodge with the construction fence on your right as you approach Chapel Drive.
- A pathway is available between Dodd Hall and the construction site. Please use caution as you approach the driveway next to Dodd Hall between Dodd and Brown, this is the main construction gate for deliveries. There is a flagger stationed at this gate at all times who can assist with crossing in front of the gate.
- A temporary accessible pathway has been established south of Brown. You can travel on the west side of Brown and turn south to head towards Frist Campus Center and Prospect House.
What else you need to know:
- North of the Project Site
- The McCosh Walk pathway between Clio as well as the diagonal pathway adjacent to the site will be closed during times when there are large deliveries entering the site.
- During closures, pedestrians will be asked to travel around Clio to Chapel Drive where they can then either continue down Chapel Drive or rejoin McCosh Walk via the stairs between Clio and Whig.
- South of the Project Site
- Starting October 3 - November 17, the area south of Brown will have limited closures for updates to pedestrian paths.
- Please follow signs and detours.

- Throughout the Environmental Studies & School of Engineering and Applied Science construction, pedestrian paths will be impacted on the north side of Ivy Lane / Western Way; the south side of Ivy Lane in front of Lewis Library; the west side of Peyton Hall; and through the site along Roper Lane.
- Pedestrian detours to Lewis Library, Peyton Hall and Fine Hall will be from Washington Road to the south side of these buildings. A temporary accessible pathway has been constructed on the east side of Peyton Hall. ES & SEAS will open in Spring 2025.
What else you need to know:
- Effective January 31, 2022, Ivy Lane and Western Way are closed to all motorists except construction crews between Washington and Fitzrandolph roads on campus.
- Pedestrian access along Ivy Lane and Western Way will be maintained for the duration of the construction project between Washington and Fitzrandolph roads, but the routes will be shifted as construction proceeds. Ivy Lane & Western Way will re-open in Spring 2025.
- The east sidewalk along Washington Road may be blocked on occasion and sidewalk detours will be maintained during the closure.

- A temporary path has been installed parallel to Dillon Court.
- Please use caution as you approach Elm Drive via foot or wheeled device.
What else you need to know:
- The west sidewalk along Elm Drive adjacent to Dillon is closed, all pedestrians should cross to the new path on Dillon Hill.
- Please use caution in the area and follow detour signs.

Between UHS site and Guyot, Moffett, Schultz
- A temporary pedestrian pathway has been established along Guyot Lane, adjacent to Scully, between Scully & Icahn and Lewis Thomas. Once you approach Goheen Walk, you can travel West or East along Goheen Walk.
- A temporary pathway will turn north (left) towards Guyot, Moffett and Schultz at the corner of Schultz and Goheen Walk. This temporary path will run parallel to west side of Guyot and head north towards McCosh Health Center and Frist Campus Center.
- Access to the west entrance of Guyot will be available from Goheen Walk.
- Please note, an accessible ramp is open.
- The precast stairs will close and be removed.

Please note there is construction to install Geo-Exchange piping adjacent Guyot. Please use the following detours on Washington Road to get towards Frist Campus Center:
- Coming from Washington Road (from the south):
- Utilize Frist Lane and head towards McCosh Health Center turn right on the pathway adjacent to McCosh Health Center towards Frist Campus Center
- <OR> Utilize the ramp or stairs on either side of the Frist Campus Center loading dock entrance to head towards Frist Campus Center, McCosh Health Center, and Jones.
- Utilize the Washington Road west sidewalk to access the two east doors to Guyot.
- Coming from Washington Road (from the north):
- Utilize the Washington Road west sidewalk to head south towards Frist Campus Center (follow "coming from Washington Road (from the south)" directions above).
- Coming from Washington Road (from the south):

- From June 5 - November 24 (updated) the west side of Elm Drive sidewalk in front of 1981 will be closed to install thermal distribution piping.
- An alternative and accessible asphalt path has been paved between 1981 and the construction area for pedestrian use.
- Please use caution in the area and please use the temporary path.
What else you need to know:
- From Sept 5 - November 24 (updated) the west side of Elm Drive sidewalk from Fisher Hall to Community Hall will be closed to install thermal distribution piping.
- Pedestrians will be directed across Elm Drive to the east sidewalk.

- A portion of Elm Drive (south of the South Guard Gate and north of theater Drive) will be closed from November 6, 2023 to December 1, 2023 to repair / replace the sidewalk.
- Please follow detour signs and use caution while in the area.

- Starting October 2 through November 30 (Updated 10/31), walkway improvements to Blair Walk are proposed between Spelman Hall and Pyne Hall.
- Please use caution and follow signs when in the area.

- On Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 8 AM-1 PM a partial closure of Guyot Lane will occur as a crane moves materials and equipment associated with the roof replacement project at Lewis Thomas Laboratory.
- Flaggers will be present to direct traffic and deliveries through this area, as needed.
- Pedestrian access will continue to be provided. Please use caution while in this area.
