Every department in Facilities provides a significant contribution to construction on campus whether it be financial, design, planning or operational. In celebration of Women in Construction Week and National Women's History Month we celebrate the women in our Facilities organization, and with our construction partners, that help us achieve success.
To celebrate WIC Week this year, March 4 - 9, 2024, Facilities is hosting a number of events to kickoff the week and share progress on our construction projects by the women involved with the projects (NOTE: tours are limited to Facilities staff).
- Monday - Kickoff the week with networking and an interactive presentation by Erika Rothenberger, bestselling author and global podcast host, on Intentional Networking.
- Tuesday - TIGER tour
- Tuesday - Meadows Neighborhood tour
- Wednesday - Central Campus tour
- Thursday - Stadium Neighborhood tour
WIC Week™, or Women in Construction Week™, celebrates and promotes the role of women in the construction industry. NAWIC held the first WIC Week in 1998 and it has grown and expanded each year since. Many local chapters hold WIC Week events, which can include making presentations to high school classes, job site tours, luncheons and virtual events.
