As of December 22, 2021, construction crews will begin preparations to close Ivy Lane and Western Way to vehicular traffic on campus between Washington and Fitzrandolph roads. Pedestrian detours will also be put in place.

Workers will erect fences along Ivy and Western to establish a perimeter for construction of the University’s new home for Environmental studies and the School of Engineering and Applied Science (ES+SEAS). After a few days, Ivy and Western roads will be closed to all motorist traffic except construction vehicles. Western Way is due to open around August, 2022. Ivy Lane will remain closed during construction of ES+SEAS. Detours and maps will be updated as construction progresses.

Detours will lead pedestrians on paths along the south side of Ivy Lane from Lewis Library to near Princeton Stadium and on the north side of Western Way between the stadium and Fitzrandolph Road. Pedestrian access along Ivy Lane and Western Way will be maintained for the duration of the construction project, but the routes will be shifted as construction proceeds.

Parking lots 4 and 5 on Ivy Lane and Lot 26 behind 5 Ivy will be closed permanently on December 22, 2021. Lots 14 and 25 will remain open until January 31, 2022, and will be accessible via Roper Lane from Prospect Street.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution and follow detour signs to navigate the area.
