Accessibility in Renovations

June 3, 2024

To continue to work towards our vision, Everyone Enters Through the Front Door, some of our historical buildings and pathways need renovations to enable a step-free, barrier-free entrance. Princeton has multiple large renovation projects on campus, and a primary objective in many of them is to provide an accessible front entrance. Other renovation changes include adding quiet rooms, elevators, accessible patios and gathering spaces, and accessible restrooms.

Below are some of the accessible features of our renovation projects on and off campus:

  • Automatic Door Openers
    • Icahn
    • Green Hall
  • Class of 1986 Fitness and Wellness Center
    • relocated entrance/lobby will be fully accessible  (photo above shows the new entry plaza)
    • interior spaces changing from 20 % to 80% accessible
    • new elevator provides service to all levels (on the southside)
  • Frist
    • quiet rooms
    • more private reflective spaces
