Designed by Davis Brody & Associates, Hoyt Laboratory was completed in 1979. The building contains research area, instructional space, and faculty office space. The original building systems are now thirty-two-years-old and nearing the end of their useful lives.
This renewal project provided new mechanical, electrical, and laboratory systems for the building. A new roof and renewed interior architectural finishes were also be included. This work extended the life of the building, made it more efficient, and interior fit-out work created specialized laboratory and administrative spaces for a group of researchers in the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
